Ombré Cotton Gauge Curtains for New Habits, in collaboration with TETRA
A set of three custom curtains commission created for the windows of New Habits café in Nea Smyrni — an exploration of colour, light, and movement through natural dyes.
For this project, we hand dyed large flowing curtain panels using natural indigo and chamomile, creating soft ombré transitions from warm golden yellows to greens and deep ocean blues. Each piece was dyed slowly by hand in our atelier, allowing the pigments to naturally shift and blend into one another, creating unique gradients impossible to replicate industrially.
The translucent fabric transforms throughout the day as sunlight passes through it, filling the café space with changing tones of blue and green, almost like reflections of water. The movement of the fabric, combined with the depth of the natural dyes, brings a calm and immersive atmosphere into the interior.
This commission was developed in collaboration with the interior designers of TETRA, with a focus on creating a textile installation that feels alive within the space — softening the architecture while connecting the indoors with nature and light.
