Roza Restaurant — Santorini 2024 & 2025

This commission for Roza Restaurant in Santorini consisted of a series of handwoven placemats and table runners created in my Athens studio using naturally dyed cotton yarns.

The yarns were dyed by hand with chamomile, onion skins, acorn cupules, pomegranate skins, madder roots, and marigold flowers, creating a palette of warm earthy tones inspired by the Mediterranean landscape. The weaving process focused on exploring the interaction of colour, texture, and rhythm through both plain weave and twill structures, allowing subtle pattern variations to emerge across each piece.

Woven on my floor loom, every textile was created slowly and intentionally, balancing functionality with the tactile and visual qualities of handmade cloth. Designed specifically for the atmosphere of Roza Restaurant, the collection aimed to bring warmth, softness, and a sense of craftsmanship into the dining experience.
