"Sunrise" Bundle Dyed Silk Eye Mask with Lavender & Flax Seeds

A naturally dyed silk eye mask created using the bundle dye technique.

The silk fabric is sourced un-dyed from Soufli, Greece. The textile is first naturally dyed with madder roots, creating a soft base tone, and then bundle dyed by Christiana with cochineal, hibiscus petals, and peony petals.

The mask is filled with flax seeds, which provide gentle weight to soothe tired eyes and help relieve dryness, along with lavender, whose natural scent supports relaxation and restful sleep.

Two elastic bands ensure the mask comfortably fits different head sizes.

Each piece is machine sewn by Violeta in our Athens-based studio.

Bundle Dyeing

Our favourite technique, a contemporary process where we use fresh and dried flowers to create prints on fabric. Each one is unique, and even if we wanted to we can't create the same pattern twice!

Natural Dyeing

Botanical dyeing is a slow process, that can be unpredictable and there are often pleasant colour surprises. It takes several hours to extract the natural pigment from plants, sometimes even days!
