A zero-waste aromatic eye pillow created using naturally dyed textile off-cuts from previous pieces in our studio.
This pillow is part of our zero-waste collection, where small remnants of naturally dyed fabrics are carefully combined to create unique patchwork textiles rather than being discarded. Each pillow therefore carries a composition of colours and textures from different natural dye processes.
The fabrics include un-dyed silk from Soufli, Greece and linen, all naturally dyed in our Athens studio using botanical dyes:
• Purple silk naturally dyed with logwood
• Blue silk naturally dyed with indigo
• Grey-blue silk naturally dyed with indigo and cutch bark
• Patterned silk bundle dyed with logwood bark and walnut leaves
• Linen naturally dyed with acorn cupules
The pillow is filled with rose petals and mustard seeds. Rose petals are traditionally used to refresh and soothe the skin, while mustard seeds provide gentle weight and are known for their anti-inflammatory properties and ability to stimulate circulation.
Designed for relaxation and meditation, the pillow can be placed over the eyes or held during moments of rest.

Botanical dyeing is a slow process, that can be unpredictable and there are often pleasant colour surprises. It takes several hours to extract the natural pigment from plants, sometimes even days!
