"Sarah" Eco-Printed Organic Cotton Blanket – Madder & Pelion Leaves

€160.00
Sold Out

This one-of-a-kind blanket is created using natural dyeing and eco-printing techniques, capturing the delicate shapes of leaves directly onto the fabric.

The textile is made from 100% organic cotton woven in Tripoli, Greece. It was first naturally dyed with madder roots by Christiana, creating a soft warm pink tone that forms the base of the piece.

The fabric was then eco-printed with chestnut leaves, plane tree leaves and walnut leaves. All the leaves used in this piece were collected by Christiana and friends during a hike in Pelion, making the textile not only a handmade object but also a memory of a shared moment in nature.

The result is a unique botanical textile where the silhouettes and pigments of the leaves remain permanently embedded in the fabric.

This piece can be used as a light blanket, sofa throw, meditation textile, or decorative wall hanging.
Size: approximately 115 × 115 cm

Natural Dyeing

Botanical dyeing is a slow process, that can be unpredictable and there are often pleasant colour surprises. It takes several hours to extract the natural pigment from plants, sometimes even days!
