"Danae" Botanical Bundle Dyed Silk & Cotton Bed Pillowcase

One side is crafted from silk from Soufli, chosen for its smooth, soft surface and gentle feel against the skin and hair. The reverse is made from cotton sheet from Tripoli, offering a softer matte texture and allowing you to choose between two different materials depending on how you wish to sleep.

The pillowcase is bundle dyed by Christiana using ivy leaves, mallow roses, logwood bark and hibiscus petals, before being over-dyed with onion skins. The process creates a warm, earthy ground scattered with delicate blue and purple marks.

Finished and machine sewn by Smaro in our Athens based studio, the pillowcase has an envelope closing.
Size: approximately 50 × 70 cm

Bundle Dyeing

Our favourite technique, a contemporary process where we use fresh and dried flowers to create prints on fabric. Each one is unique, and even if we wanted to we can't create the same pattern twice!

Natural Dyeing

Botanical dyeing is a slow process, that can be unpredictable and there are often pleasant colour surprises. It takes several hours to extract the natural pigment from plants, sometimes even days!
