"Keira" Handwoven Naturally Dyed Blanket – Cotton, Linen & Silk

€400.00

This one-of-a-kind blanket is handwoven on a floor loom in our Athens studio by Christiana, combining naturally dyed cotton, linen, and silk yarns.

Each yarn has been carefully dyed using plant-based pigments, creating a subtle palette of earthy tones and soft natural variations.

The cotton yarns are naturally dyed with cutch, avocado stones, chamomile, jackfruit, indigo and oak bark, producing warm browns, golden hues and deep blues. The linen yarns are dyed with chamomile and marigolds, adding light yellow tones and natural brightness to the weave. The silk yarns are dyed with onion skins and indigo, contributing delicate highlights and depth.

The combination of fibres creates a textile with beautiful structure, texture and softness. The blanket is finished with hand-tied tassels, giving it a relaxed yet refined character.

This piece can be used as a sofa throw, bed blanket, or decorative textile, bringing warmth and natural colour into the home.
Size: approximately 115 × 180 cm

Natural Dyeing

Botanical dyeing is a slow process, that can be unpredictable and there are often pleasant colour surprises. It takes several hours to extract the natural pigment from plants, sometimes even days!

Weaving

Christiana started weaving in university, but really felt in love with weaving while travelling in Asia. One of her favourite techniques is ikat. In the studio Christiana uses her big floor loom to weave items for the home such as table and bed runners, pillows, placemats as well as custom orders for rugs, blankets and throws.
