"Cloud" Naturally Dyed Hand-Woven Coasters (Set of 4)

Each coaster is woven by hand in our Athens-based studio by Christiana using un-dyed cotton warp yarns sourced from Greece. The weft yarns are a mix of cotton, linen and silk that have been naturally dyed in our studio with plant dyes including madder roots, cutch bark, cochineal and onion skins by Christiana. The edges are overlocked by Christiana in our studio.

A thoughtful piece for everyday rituals — from morning coffee to evening tea.

Natural Dyeing

Botanical dyeing is a slow process, that can be unpredictable and there are often pleasant colour surprises. It takes several hours to extract the natural pigment from plants, sometimes even days!

 

Weaving

Christiana started weaving in university, but really felt in love with weaving while travelling in Asia. One of her favourite techniques is ikat. In the studio Christiana uses her big floor loom to weave items for the home such as table and bed runners, pillows, placemats as well as custom orders for rugs, blankets and throws.
