"Dreamy" Eco Printed Linen Table Runner

€110.00

A linen table runner naturally dyed and eco printed in our Athens atelier using botanical leaves and traditional plant dye techniques.

The fabric is undyed linen woven in Tripoli, Greece. It was eco printed with leaves carefully collected by Christiana, allowing the plants to release their natural pigments and imprint their shapes directly onto the textile during the steaming process. After printing, the fabric was gently overdyed with madder root.

Finished with a clean overlock edge by Violetta in our Athens-based studio.
Size: Approx. 155 × 30 cm

Batik

Batik is a wax-resist dyeing technique which originated in Indonesia.

The applied wax resists the dyes and therefore allows us to colour selectively by dyeing fabric in one colour and then removing the wax. In our practice, this is usually repeated a few times, creating layers with many different colours.

Natural Dyeing

Botanical dyeing is a slow process, that can be unpredictable and there are often pleasant colour surprises. It takes several hours to extract the natural pigment from plants, sometimes even days!
