"Autumn" Naturally Dyed Cotton Cushion Cover

A naturally dyed cotton cushion cover created using a combination of eco-printing and bundle dye techniques.

The fabric is made from un-dyed cotton sourced from Tripoli, Greece. The textile is eco-printed by Christiana using a selection of leaves including plane tree, maple tree, eucalyptus, and chestnut, transferring the natural pigments and shapes of the plants directly onto the fabric.

The piece is then bundle dyed with logwood bark, mallow roses, walnut leaves, and onion skins.

Each cushion cover is machine sewn in our Athens-based studio.
Approximate size: 45cm × 55cm

Bundle Dyeing

Our favourite technique, a contemporary process where we use fresh and dried flowers to create prints on fabric. Each one is unique, and even if we wanted to we can't create the same pattern twice!

Natural Dyeing

Botanical dyeing is a slow process, that can be unpredictable and there are often pleasant colour surprises. It takes several hours to extract the natural pigment from plants, sometimes even days!
