"Dusk" Botanical Bundle Dyed Silk Cushion Cover

This naturally dyed silk cushion cover is crafted from 100% undyed silk woven in Soufli, Greece. The silk is first bundle dyed by Christiana using ivy leaves, hibiscus, and cutch, allowing the plants to imprint their natural pigments and organic shapes directly onto the fabric. The piece is then over-dyed with logwood bark by Christiana.

The back of the cushion is made from undyed linen sourced from France. Each cushion is carefully machine sewn by Violeta in our Athens-based studio.

Bundle Dyeing

Our favourite technique, a contemporary process where we use fresh and dried flowers to create prints on fabric. Each one is unique, and even if we wanted to we can't create the same pattern twice!

Natural Dyeing

Botanical dyeing is a slow process, that can be unpredictable and there are often pleasant colour surprises. It takes several hours to extract the natural pigment from plants, sometimes even days!
