This one-of-a-kind cushion is crafted from raw silk sourced from Soufli, Greece. The fabric has been bundle dyed by Christiana using botanical and natural dyes, creating an organic constellation of warm red and pink tones.

Natural dyes used include cochineal, hibiscus, madder root, logwood, and elderberries, producing a layered palette that reflects the unpredictability and beauty of plant dyeing.

The back of the cushion is made from un-dyed cotton fabric sourced in Athens, offering a soft natural contrast to the dyed silk front. The cushion has an envelope closure and is carefully machine sewn by Violeta in our Athens-based studio.

Bundle Dyeing

Our favourite technique, a contemporary process where we use fresh and dried flowers to create prints on fabric. Each one is unique, and even if we wanted to we can't create the same pattern twice!

Natural Dyeing

Botanical dyeing is a slow process, that can be unpredictable and there are often pleasant colour surprises. It takes several hours to extract the natural pigment from plants, sometimes even days!
