"Azure" Raw Silk Botanical Bundle Dyed Cushion Cover

The front of the cushion is made from un-dyed raw silk sourced from Soufli, Greece. The silk was bundle dyed by Christiana using a selection of natural materials including elderberries, cochineal, walnut leaves, eucalyptus leaves, acorn cupules and hibiscus, producing layered botanical tones and delicate plant impressions.

The back of the cushion is made from un-dyed cotton.

The cushion is finished with an envelope closure and carefully machine sewn by Violeta in our Athens-based studio.

Bundle Dyeing

Our favourite technique, a contemporary process where we use fresh and dried flowers to create prints on fabric. Each one is unique, and even if we wanted to we can't create the same pattern twice!

Natural Dyeing

Botanical dyeing is a slow process, that can be unpredictable and there are often pleasant colour surprises. It takes several hours to extract the natural pigment from plants, sometimes even days!
